Lexington City Office On Youth : The Office on Youth works "to help other youth serving agencies in the City of Lexington provide programs for students in Lexington and its environs." During the year, they manage an after school program for students, and during the summer they provide a youth program. The mayor, who is independently elected, is the presiding officer." City Council meetings occur the first and third Thursdays of each month at 8PM in Waddell Elementary School's cafeteria. It is composed of six residents who are elected at large.

Historic Lexington Foundation: works to promote the preservation of the rich architectural and related historic resources of Rockbridge County, Virginia.
